150 year old barn board is displayed in several of these pictures. Barn board, because of its unique characteristics and antique qualities, is hard to find. When it is found, the age of it alone has caused most of it to have deteriorated beyond build-able quality or just split, too small to work with. Not only the rarity of it but the authenticity of it, makes it valuable in itself. Each board is one of a kind which makes each piece one of a kind. It is weathered to refinement by nature itself and ...time. To protect its value, only 1 or 2 coats of a protective sealant is placed on it, primarily clear polyurethane. To paint or stain it would be a sin.
Other woods that CAN be stained or painted, is alpine, yellow or white pine. Sanded until smooth and stained/painted with at least one coat of clear polyurethane sealant.
The benches and stools are a 'no-tip' patented design by Mr. Edwards. But, because of the insinuation that they won't tip over while standing on them, does not mean that they won't. Therefore, we will not be held liable for any injury or cause of injury or destruction of any one or any thing when used. It is what it is and we take no responsibility for its use or mis-use.
These products can be shipped but craftsman or assignees will not be held liable for the shipment of same. Pick-up on sight is the preferable way to transport. Cost of product would be paid in advance and this would include shipping charges...but we don't want to do it this way, as a lot of carriers are too rough and products are therefore mishandled. Our area is so very beautiful. You would certainly enjoy the visit. So come pick up on sight. |
