Juan, shown with Gritz, a rescued white Boxer, is not Spanish or Mexican, but American Indian/English decent. He has been working in construction since he was nine. Mr. Edwards is very creative and drew the caricature horse/wagon logo. He has finally been able to achieve a dream of owning a Harley, and what better place to enjoy it, but in the mountains, where he and his wife and company partner, Debra, live. He is also an avid fisherman, selective hunter and is extremely knowledgeable about guns and knives. Wherever he goes, there is always someone asking him to sharpen their knives. Juan has an exceptionally witty personality and will make you laugh if around him for long. |

Debra, a Realtor/Writer/Animal Advocate and company business partner with Juan, is shown wearing one of her eyeglass necklaces that she made when the economy fell so hard. To keep from feeling absolutely useless, and not being able to find affordable ones on-line, she started making these necklaces out of need, and then for sale. Debra works some of the local arts n craft shows here in the Cashiers, NC area. (Eyeglass & I.D. necklaces run from $25 - $50. Ear rings to match - $10)
Debra is the daughter of one of the original aviators that used to fly barnstorming and acrobatic stunts before becoming an airline pilot with Eastern Air Lines. Her father was a civil flight instructor during the war and learned to fly himself with only 1 lesson, and that he, George Van Auken, always remembers never having paid the $5.00 to his instructor for that lesson. Because he logged the most hours in the DC-3, he was the pilot that flew it to Washington, DC to hang in the Smithsonian Institute, where it is to this day, with his inscription on it. Debra's mother, Alice Van Auken was in Girl Scouting for 32 years and won the 'Friendship Badge' because of her lengthy tenure as a volunteer scout leader for hundreds and hundreds of girl scouts, primarily all over the South. Debra loves to ride her horses and thoroughly enjoys her 5-purebred rescued dogs and 1 cat. She also is a partner with Juan while he rides his Harley, a.k.a. 'Olive Oil' and she rides her Piaggio BV500, a.k.a. 'PopEye'.
Married for 31 years with one daughter, Molly, who resides in St. Petersburg, Fla. |
